In partnership with LaGuardia Community College’s Center for Teaching and Educational Advancement, The City Tutors recently hosted "The Future of Cybersecurity and AI: Insights, Careers, and Networking." This session was designed to equip students from across CUNY with valuable knowledge and connections in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity, a critical area for students seeking in-demand skills in today’s job market.

As our personal and professional lives become increasingly digital, the demand for skilled professionals capable of safeguarding data and preventing security breaches is only rising.
Career Pathways in Cybersecurity: Mentors shared actionable advice on entering cybersecurity, including essential skills, entry-level strategies, and the diversity of career paths within the field. From corporate data protection to specialized roles in threat analysis and physical security, cybersecurity offers a wide array of opportunities for students.
Networking and Professional Development: Mentors emphasized the importance of intentional networking, sharing that “your network is your net worth.” By building relationships early, students can open doors to future career opportunities and develop essential industry connections.
