Volunteer as a Tutor

Support learners aged 5–65 across a variety of academic areas:

• 📚 K-12 subjects

• 🎓 College coursework

• 🌎 Adult ESL conversation clubs

• 🏫 Adult GED preparation

How It Works:

• 💻 Remote or In-Person: Tutor 1:1 or in small groups.

• ⏰ Flexible Commitment: At least 5 hours per month (just 1 hour per week), with an ideal commitment of 2 hours per week. You can pause tutoring whenever you need to, and return whenever you want to.

• 🔗 You can work with one or multiple learners at a time.

Ways to Get Involved:

1️⃣ Drop-In Tutoring Hours – No prep, just show up (Tues-Thurs, 6 PM, virtual).
2️⃣ 1:1 Tutoring – Set your schedule; we match you with learners.
3️⃣ In-Person Tutoring – Tutor at select NYC partner locations.

Volunteer as a career Mentor

Support diverse learners from across New York City, including high school students, career changers, alumni, and returning adults. While we proudly partner with CUNY, serving students from all community and senior colleges, our mentorship program is open to all learners, with a focus on first-generation, immigrant, and historically underserved communities.

Your Role as a Mentor:

⏳ Quick Impact: Most mentorships involve only two sessions, giving you the opportunity to make a difference without a long-term commitment.

🗽 Broaden Learners’ Horizons: Learners can work with up to four mentors at a time. Your insights, alongside others, help them quickly build networks and industry knowledge.

💬 Lead Through Experience: While learners come prepared with questions and lead the conversation, your experience and guidance shape their understanding of career pathways.
