We currently have the following in-person tutoring opportunities available. These locations will remain open until all spots are filled: (Background Check required)

For Young Learners:

  • Dorill Initiative at Grand Street Settlement

  • Fiver Children's Foundation
    519 Eighth Avenue, Floor 24, New York, NY 10018

For Adult Learners (GED and Beyond):

  • The HOPE Program (Ages 18 and over; open to all students in our system)
    1 Smith Street, 4th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201

  • City Tech Adult Education Program
    Downtown Brooklyn, NY

  • LaGuardia Community College Adult Education Program
    Long Island City, NY

Other Tutoring Opportunities:

Virtual Drop-In Tutoring (No Background Check Required)

  • Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6 PM via Zoom.

  • Support students who join the call for real-time tutoring.

1:1 Tutoring (Background Check Required)

  • Work directly with a student outside the Zoom drop-in sessions, providing personalized academic support.

  1. Fill out the form at thecitytutors.org/volunteer to indicate your preferred site or tutoring option.

  2. Complete a background check if you plan to participate in any in-person or 1:1 tutoring sessions.
